    • RETOUCHING A FRAME
    The "Celeste Bianchi Code"

It is not easy to find a vintage bicycle in perfect condition, often the time and use have caused damage to the painting, unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view. Many of you will prefer to leave everything as it is so as not to change the charm of a lived bicycle, but if you wanted to eliminate these defects there is a remedy! First of all you have to clone the color of your frame in a specialized laboratory (they are found in the colors) and arm yourself with brushes and sponges from a bodyguard, the one used to sand the bottom. The operation to do will be to add the paint where it is missing, but you have to be careful because surely it will create a difference between the one you put and the existing one. Don't lose heart and add more with a brush until you overload the tint with respect to that of the frame.  At this point before the paint is completely dry pass the abrasive sponge gently smoothing the excess paint to the level of that of the frame. It is a work in which you need delicacy in order not to spoil the existing paint, but if you pay attention you will be satisfied with the result. Fortunately, the color factory I collaborate with helps me a lot, I leave them the frames and with extreme meticulousness and by doing different tests they can replicate any kind of color. This is a very important thing that you will have to pay attention to otherwise you can't proceed and you risk making a mess!!!

With this method I was able to add to this Bianchi at least 75% of the missing color and I am very satisfied with the result, preserving what was left and make the bike aesthetically pleasing, I would say beautiful!!!
